THE
BETTER PATH

[Once again, the Verses and the Archetypes make the
point that Nature is a better teacher and Source for lasting, True Wisdom than man-made institutions or
hierarchies. Though an intellectual challenge, the Verses indicate that solitude with Nature
will yield a better "conversation" than those of society. Let's explore "The Better
Path".]
Welcome again and nearby draw
You needn't come to me in
awe
For better now You'll
understand
The Essence of the place of
Man.
The shackles of your Mind like
scales
Shall fall upon your well-worn
trail
And then, before you lies like
new
A better path with morning
dew
Still lying on the fresh green
blades
Like diamonds on the path you've
prayed
To find for lo, these many
years
The dew's your transformed,
suppressed tears.
Now sparkling in the early
Sun
The path you've only now
begun
To tread will yield what Nature
praises
A Mind released from Mankind's
cages.
What cages do I speak of
now?
To dare to slaughter sacred
cows?
Do schools and governments
partake?
Aren't these the walls that prisons
make?
Politics; Science collude as
well
And of society make a
hell
A pleasant prospect compared to the
walls
That make our given Minds so
small
Press onto the Path
Where no crowd treads
and leave behind
the living dead
Peaceful, alone,
Conversation abounds
Where Nature itself
Is the only true sound.
Then observant, alive
Even closer you'll
draw
On a pristine, bright
Pathway
With new Reverence and Awe.
